Government dignitaries and notable entertainers will raise awareness about the human suffering and determination among Hurricane Irma and Maria victims in the Virgin Islands during the premiere of a new documentary “Dear Everyone, Sincerely, Virgin Island.” Presented by M’oonk Films Devoted Studios, the opening reception and viewing will take place on November 9 at U.S. Navy Memorial’s Burke Theater.
Representative Stacey Plaskett (D-USVI At Large) will join actors Leon Robinson (“The Five Heartbeats,” “Cool Runnings,” and “Above the Rim”), Morocco Omari (“Empire”), and the documentary’s executive producer Taroue Brooks to show their support for the film and the people who are rebuilding their lives following the Category 5 hurricanes.
“Recently, both Hurricanes Irma and Maria wreaked havoc on the Virgin Islands. This powerful documentary shows the full extent of the two hurricanes' impact on the Virgin Islands. In the days and months ahead, we must continue to work together to ensure that the individuals and families impacted by these devastating storms receive all the aid they need. This documentary will educate the world on those needs,” said Plaskett.
