Diana Schroeder, who most recently served as a freelance producer for various agencies in Chicago (Young & Rubicam, Element 79 & Partners, BBDO), has been named executive producer of The Whitehouse’s Chicago office. The edit house also maintains operations in Santa Monica, New York and London.
Schroeder brings extensive experience on both the agency and production sides of the business to her new roost. From 1998 to ’01, she was director of broadcast production for The Richards Group, Dallas. While there she worked with company principal Stan Richards to develop and launch Spotmakers, an independent production unit within the agency.
Earlier Schroeder held positions at such ad shops as DDB Dallas, GSD&M in Austin, Texas, and Concrete Productions, Dallas. At spot production house Concrete, she managed a roster of five directors and managed shoots for such clients as Target, Home Depot, the Texas State Lottery and the Texas Department of Tourism.
Melissa Thornley, managing director of The Whitehouse’s four offices, headed the exec producer search. Thornley has worked with Schroeder frequently over the years.
Schroeder said she has wanted to make the move over to the post arena for some time and is excited over the prospects for this new chapter in her career. Schroeder regards The Whitehouse as the right fit that she had been seeking, citing the shop’s top-drawer talent and reputation.
