Lucky Post has added sound designer Matt Cimino to its roster. Cimino recently contributed sound design to the feature film Miss Juneteenth, which premiered at Sundance 2020 to rave reviews before heading to Austin for a scheduled screening at SXSW. His vast commercial portfolio includes spots and campaigns for Ram, GameStop, Bridgestone, Dodge and Patron, as well as Jeep’s Super Bowl ad. “Restlessness.”
Formerly a sound designer at 3008, Cimino is known for developing narrative depth and dimension through sound. The Chicago native was exposed to the power of audio early on by his father and grandfather, both musicians. This real-world education was enhanced for Cimino in the inaugural class for audio recording at Columbia College. There, he found his calling within the wider scope of the music industry–sound design.
Throughout his career, Cimino has honed his talent at companies in Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and his home-away-from-home, Dallas. Over the years at 3008, he and Tim Nagle, partner at Lucky Post, crossed paths on projects shared between both companies. Cimino’s interest in all forms of content are an ideal match for Lucky’s existing client base which spans advertising and music videos along with short and feature films.
Lucky Post CEO/partner Tammie Kleinmann described Cimino as “one of the best sound designers in the industry and immensely dedicated to his craft.”
Cimino added that Lucky Post is not only “a premiere place for all forms of creative content,” but also has “a feeling of community that inspires a sense of immediate kinship.”
Lucky Post’s studio features creative editorial, graphic design, sound design, mixing, color, compositing, VFX and finish.
