Music and sound studio Barking Owl has brought mixer A.J. Murillo on board. He brings to his new roost eight years of audio post experience, including work on campaigns for Snapchat, United Airlines, Kia, Chase Bank, Hollywood Bowl and Expedia.
Kelly Bayett, partner and executive creative director at Barking Owl, said of Murillo, “He grew up in this industry at Eleven with our lead mixer, Mike Franklin, and recently worked as a mixer at Juice. His creative choices are spot on and he has exactly the right energy for our place….Since we do sound design, mix and music it’s crucial to find mixers who can thrive in a team environment.”
Murillo joins a Barking Owl engineering team which also includes Franklin and Matt Keith.
Murillo’s hire comes at a time when Barking Owl has had great success with the music, sound design and mix of the Cannes Grand Prix-winning Corazon for Montefiore hospital as well as recent collaborations with Audi, AT&T, Facebook, Google, Nike, Spotify, Toyota, Samsung and Bacardi.
