Digital Artist/Compositor Comes Over From CIS.

Digital artist/ compositor Danny Mudgett has joined Venice-based Sight Effects. The move ends his 14-year tenure at CIS, Hollywood, where he worked on commercials for such clients as Nike, Dodge, 7-Up and Miller Beer. Mudgett also worked on features (i.e. Titanic, Contact) and TV series (i.e. Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: The Next Generation). He recently received an Emmy nomination for his contributions to the TV miniseries Storm of the Century.
"Moving to Sight Effects from CIS was something of a natural evolution for me," says Mudgett. "I’ve known [Sight Effects’ partners] Alan [Barnett] and Melissa [Davies] for many years and have always admired the extremely high quality of work at Sight Effects. The opportunity to work in such a collaborative, creative environment was one that I couldn’t pass up."
"Danny comes to us with a really strong pedigree," said Davies. "His experience at CIS has given him an incredibly strong visual sensibility as well as an eye for detail and quality. He’s a perfectionist, which is part of the mindset here."
Mudgett’s exploits at Sight Effects already include Sega’s "Dreamcast" spot directed by John Moore of bicoastal Headquarters for Foote, Cone & Belding, San Francisco; and Chevy’s "Lifeboat," helmed by Eric Saarinen of Santa Monica-based Plum Productions via Campbell-Ewald Advertising, Warren, Mich.
