Company Adds Aporva Baxi; Ups Jim Moran.
The Attik has named James Somerville group creative director. He will oversee the development of The Attik throughout the company’s five offices in London; Huddersfield, England; New York; San Francisco; and Sydney, Australia.
Additionally, New York-based executive producer Jim Moran has added managing director to his title and assumes responsibility for the overall management of the New York studio, and Aporva Baxi has been named creative director, replacing Somerville. Baxi will be based in New York.
Sommerville, a director/co-founder, relinquished his most recent role as creative director of The Attik’s New York studio to become the company’s group creative director. He will continue to direct both commercials and longform projects through The Attik in New York and London, the latter city being his home base.
Moran joined The Attik in March ’98 as a senior producer. At his new post, he will head up U.S. broadcast production as executive producer and work closely with William Travis, Attik U.S. president/executive producer, San Francisco. Moran was responsible for the broadcast package launch for MTV’s new set of music channels exclusively for cable systems, called Digital Suites; and for the redesign of IDs, logos and graphics for Comedy Central. Moran began his career as a producer with Olive Jar Studios, Boston, where he managed accounts for clients including Dairy Management, Turner Classic Movies and Walt Disney World/Target.
Baxi, who has been with the Attik since ’95, was creative director of the London office for three years, and in the past five months has served as interim creative director in The Attik’s Sydney office. In London, he worked for clients including British Telecom, Sony Computer Entertainment and Columbia TriStar International. Prior to joining The Attik, Baxi was a designer for Saatchi & Saatchi London, where he was responsible for developing graphics for the UK campaign of the Toyota RAV 4. His other clients include Nike, EMI, Virgin and Coca-Cola.
