THE SPOT
"Z1" (:30) opens on what appears to be an average desktop computer on a brushed-steel surface. But as the camera moves around and in on the computer monitor, it discovers a zipper on the side panel that opens to reveal the new NEC Z1 system. As the old computer unfolds and falls away, the camera continues to follow a winding path around the new system, revealing its sleek design which includes a removable, flat screen monitor and wireless keyboard. As the letters of the alphabet spin across the monitor’s face in 3-D space, the narrator proclaims, "The evolution of the computer ends with ‘Z.’"
Spot broke in September.
