Sean Patrick Kelly has been named head of production at Cause and Effect, the creative production company specializing in branded content, design and animation, live action, and brand marketing.
In his new role, Kelly will oversee the production of all live-action ad campaigns, continue to build client and agency relations and write and direct creative projects. Kelly advances to this role from supervising producer, a position he’s held at the company since 2014. He was integral to the production of more than 100 commercials and campaigns for clients such as MTV, Nickelodeon, IFC, Hulu and NBC. Kelly will continue to report directly to partner/executive producer Jason Zemlicka and partner/executive creative director Jamie Hubbard.
Kelly joined Cause and Effect in 2012 as a line producer, having previously worked as producer and production manager for a variety of studios including Good Great Grand and Bunker. With a background in producing, writing, and directing live action, commercials and branded content, Kelly has received accolades including a Clio Sports Gold, Promax Gold, a Silver Cannes Lion and an honorary Webby.
He is one half of directing duo Sean&Steve, a creative partnership he shares with Steve Figueiredo, also a producer at Cause and Effect. The team writes and directs narrative comedy projects and digital shorts. Most recently, they directed Cause and Effect’s digital campaigns for Hulu and Johnson & Johnson, as well as a national brand tie-in for IFC and Geico.
