Former Penny Lane owner and senior mixer Bobby Sorrentino will make his new home at audioEngine|NYC after the closure of Penny Lane studios in mid-August. Penny Lane fell victim to the ever-skyrocketing Manhattan real estate market.
“I’ve known Bobby for more years than either of us would care to admit and I’m thrilled that he chose audioEngine as his new home.” said Bob Giammarco, CEO of aE|Media, audioEngine|NYC’s parent company.
Sorrentino will join an audioEngine|NYC roster that includes Tom Goldblatt, Eric Hoffman, Carl Mandelbaum and Rex Recker.
“Having known Bob, Tom and the other mixers at audioEngine for many years, I find it more than exciting to join my old friends at audioEngine,” said Sorrentino.
Sorrentino will occupy the John Storyk-designed Studio F at 817 Broadway as his primary studio. “All of our mixers can work any room, but we need to house one of Penny Lane’s FairLight systems in order to support legacy clients and studio F was the best fit for that,” said Giammarco.
Founded in 2013, aE|Media is a group of creatively focused post companies which include audioEngine|NYC, audioEngine|PHX, Broadcasters, KIND editorial and Shout It Out Loud Music.
