THE SPOTS
Two :30s deliver the message that same sex commitments deserve the same recognition as opposite sex commitments. In "Flower," actress Susan Sarandon sits in a chair, plucking the petals of a flower as she says, "He loves me, he loves me not…" She questions if it matters to anyone if she instead said, "She loves me, she loves me not," and concludes, "probably not." Actor William Christian (All My Children) is featured in "Butterfly." He talks about the side effects of love—butterflies in the stomach, feeling sick, etc., explaining that some people feel this way but can’t let their love show for fear of losing their job, home or worse. Each PSA ends with the tag, "LoveIsLoveIsLove" and the GLAAD Web address, www.glaad.org.
Spots broke in April.
