THE SPOTS
In the :30 "Selling Cookies," an apparently sweet-natured Sunflower girl approaches a woman about purchasing some cookies. The woman tells the girl that she can’t because she doesn’t have any money. The girl immediately changes her demeanor, insisting that the woman must have money since she has a new Camry in her driveway. The little Sunflower tells the woman that she’s marking her down for four boxes and stomps away. In "High Five" (:30), a delighted customer wants to give a reluctant Toyota salesman a high five. However, via flashbacks, the viewer sees a sequence where the salesman gets his hand crunched, shook, slapped and otherwise abused by past customers who were thrilled with their purchases. The salesman winds up giving the surprised customer a big hug. In the :30 "Cousin Frankie," two relatives named Frankie—one a large man and the other a small one—await a salesman’s proposal. When little Frankie reads the contract, he is pleased with the deal and tells his cousin to give the man a hug. Little Frankie then joins in on the embrace. The :30 "Clear the Store"—which is shot from the POV of a security camera in a department store—features an announcement over a loudspeaker regarding a Camry that has its lights on, which results in everyone exiting the store. And in the :30 "Drive Off," a man who apparently had just gone out to pick up milk winds up purchasing two cars from a Toyota dealership. He attempts to drive both cars off the lot at the same time by driving a few feet in one, stopping, and moving to the other vehicle. As he does this, he tells the salesman that his wife is going to kill him.
"Selling Cookies" and "Clear the Store" began airing June 3; "High Five," "Cousin Frankie" and "Drive Off" broke July 2.
