THE SPOTS
Two :15s illustrate the tag, "First they’re sour, then they’re sweet." In "Pigtail," a young girl wakes up and finds that one of her pigtails has been cut off. Before she can recover from the shock, she turns to find a gummy little critter standing in her room, holding the ponytail in one hand and a pair of scissors in the other. "Egg Trick" shows a teenage boy answering the door, only to get pummeled by eggs. Again, it’s the gummy character who is the culprit as he stands there and drops the carton of eggs. Each spot ends with the character "hugging" the leg of the person they’ve played a trick on. The commercials end with a shot of the Sour Patch Kids bag, along with type stating, "Sour. Sweet. Gone."
Spots broke in June.
