THE SPOTS
Three humorous :30s show cell phone users going to great lengths in order to avoid high charges during peak hours. In "Camping," a man’s face swells up to an alarming size after "just a bug bite." He refuses to get help, telling his buddies that calling a doctor now would cost a fortune. In "Gorilla," a man drops his phone into a gorilla habitat at a zoo. When the ape begins making calls on the man’s phone during peak hours, he is forced to jump into the attraction to retrieve his cell. In "Nocturnal," a jittery man scurries around outside after dark like a raccoon, making cell phone calls along the way. After being caught in the headlights of a passing car, he runs off, only to be attacked by a neighbor’s dog. T-Mobile spokesperson Catherine Zeta-Jones appears at the end of each ad to inform viewers about how to avoid these pitfalls by joining T-Mobile and talking whenever, nationwide.
"Gorilla" began airing July 7, and "Camping" and "Nocturnal" broke July 20.
