THE SPOTS
Five :30s humorously showcase the low cost of flying AirTran Airways and feature the tagline, "Go. There’s nothing stopping you." In "Shipping," business people are transported to a meeting in boxes, but one person doesn’t make it. The spot then cuts to a large box falling out of a truck driving down a street. The box is promptly hit by a car. The voiceover asks, "Is the cost of getting there getting in the way of doing business?" In "Fired/Last Minute," an office worker is fired by his boss—who’s attending a conference in New York–via the telephone. The now-unemployed man flies to the Big Apple and tackles his former boss who’s in the midst of giving a speech at the conference. "Babysitters" shows grandparents arriving at their daughter’s home. The parents then quickly hand off the two babies to grandma and grandpa and run out of the house with luggage to a waiting taxi, which speeds away. Grandpa chases after the car, yelling, "Don’t leave us with the babies!" A pair of businessmen stiff a restaurant after having supper with a new client in "Client Dinner." The voiceover queries, "Business trips getting too expensive?" And in "Mouthwash," a mom, dad and grandmother share a bottle of mouthwash—literally. Dad rinses and spits the mouthwash back into the bottle. He hands it off to his wife who does the same and passes it to grandma. "Does the cost of travel have you cutting back in other areas?" the voiceover asks.
