THE SPOTS
Three humorous :30s feature Michael Waltrip of the NAPA Auto Parts racing team, along with drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Park. In "Dub," Earnhardt and Park ogle a group of "auto bunnies" who are gathered on the other side of a trackside fence. Earnhardt asks Park if he wants to know what the best part of auto racing is. Before the obvious answer can come out of Earnhardt’s mouth, another mouth is superimposed on his face, and he is heard to say, "Michael Waltrip." Park concurs, and with his superimposed mouth, he adds that he hopes one day the whole world will use NAPA products. The spot eventually cuts to an editing room, where Waltrip gives final approval on a "tremendous" dubbing job. "Impression" shows Earnhardt and Park making fun of Waltrip’s NAPA racing uniform, and "Hardly" features Waltrip, flanked by Park and Earnhardt, slapping "NAPA" signs on the racers’ backs as they walk along a race track.
Spots broke in February.
