THE SPOTS
Two :30s promote Sony’s "War of the Monsters" PlayStation 2 videogame. In "Barracks," a drill sergeant dresses down his cadet, one of whom is a giant purple monster with one eye. The poor creature winds up scrubbing the bathroom floor with a toothbrush. "Drive-In" shows a couple watching a cheesy monster flick outdoors. Suddenly, a voice is heard criticizing the movie ("That’s obviously a guy in a rubber suit!"). The male part of the couple turns around and shouts for the loudmouth to shut up. It is then revealed that the critic is a large octopus-like monster with a huge brain, sitting on top of the snack stand.
