Fully integrated solution used in the production of the VR experience “Building a Better McDonald’s.”
Hula Post, a leading supplier of post-production technology and support for motion pictures and television, has developed an all-in-one workstation for virtual reality content creation. The workstation features best-in-class solutions for stitching, stabilization, editorial, visual effects, titling, color correction, finishing and playback. It is available for lease on a short-term or long-term basis, and comes with the same 24/7/365 technical support and service that Hula provides for editing systems, media storage and networking projects.
Hula Post designed the workstation for the growing number of traditional production and post-production companies entering the VR space. “We make it very easy for companies to take on VR projects,” said Michael Moncreiff, Hula’s Senior Vice President for Business Development. “Our workstation includes everything you need to transform raw production elements into rich, vibrant, cinematic, immersive VR experiences.”
In the first use of the new workstation, Hula Post provided post-production services to the production company, Wonderworld VR, and McDonald’s for a 3D virtual reality experience introducing its new self-service kiosks (now in use at some restaurants in Florida, New York and Southern California). Hula managed editorial, color correction, titling and finishing for the 2-minute piece, titled Building a Better McDonald’s Just for You, which takes viewers on a 360-degree, 3D tour of a restaurant equipped with the new ordering system.
Hula Post has been a trusted leader in motion picture and television post production for more than 20 years and brings the same reliable expertise and responsive support to virtual reality. “Our VR engineers will help you through each step of set-up, production and delivery,” said Moncreiff, “and our support team will be at the ready, 24/7 should any issues arise.”

Simian Gets An Evolutionary Boost For Collaboration, Reveals “Teams”
Simian, the showreel-building, review & approval, and production asset management platform used globally by creative leaders, is kicking off this fall season with a substantial leap forward for collaboration and project management – with more updates on the way during the holidays!
The new feature, aptly dubbed “Teams”, makes it easier than ever for users to give project responsibilities to team members and clients alike. “You can never have too many options when it comes to permission levels,” says Jay Brooks, Simian’s Chief Technology Officer. “Teams provides a streamlined way to assign multiple users to a project at once.”
“Teams are very powerful, but creating one is effortless,” Brian Atton, Simian’s Chief Operating Officer explains. “Simply enter a Team name, add members, and then apply the newly made Team to any desired project. You can even invite temporary guests without changing settings for other projects or needing to create a new Team.”
“We love helping our clients by providing efficient tools to improve their workflow, and this has been a frequently requested feature as of late,” shares Kellie Atton, Head of Sales at Simian. “It feels great to get Teams out into the wild because I know it’s going to be tremendously helpful to everyone who uses it”.
Teams is now available exclusively to Simian’s enterprise clients. Simian plans to release more product upgrades and enhancements during Q4 2024 and 2025 for enterprise and non-enterprise users, continuing its ongoing evolution as the industry’s leading production asset management solution.
