THE SPOTS
Three :30s spotlight American Express as the "official card of the NBA and WNBA." In "Kids," coach Bill Cartwright is shown spending time with his "youngsters," the members of the Chicago Bulls, most of whom are in their early 20s. The players watch cartoons, play Marco Polo and hold hands with their coach and teammates while crossing the street. "Deli" features a counterman repeatedly calling out the number 10. Finally, Sue Bird of the Seattle Storm WNBA team skips up to the counter as if she was being introduced to the crowd before a basketball game, as the other customers look at her strangely. And in "Good Karma," Phil Jackson, the Los Angeles Lakers coach heads to a deli to buy a beverage and some scratch-off tickets. He comes up a winner with both the scratch-off game and the under side of the beverage lid. When he arrives home, he notices a Prize Patrol car pulling up in front of his house.
