EVENTtech got the perfect buzz off of the “4D Immersive Reality Budweiser Brewery Tour” at SXSW 2016, giving The Uprising Creative the coveted Best Use of a Single Technology (B-to-B) trophy at the Experience Design and Technology Awards. The Uprising Creative was in esteemed company, winning in the category above impressive campaigns for Amazon Web Services (Partners: Opus Agency, etech) and Cisco (Partner: InVision Communications). The entire project was led by Brock Marlborough, Head of Experiential & Business Development at The Uprising Creative, who produced the event in partnership with Pro-Ject and Anheuser-Busch's amazing digital team.
The VR Brewery Tour was a verifiable hit in Austin this spring, transporting participants to Anheuser-Busch's St. Louis facility where they were given a full synesthetic tour, allowing them to see, hear, smell – and taste – how Budweiser is made. VR goggles brought participants through the historic brick and stained glass stables that house the famous Budweiser Clydesdales and allowed them to peek at a Budweiser brew-master conducting a quality tasting. No sensorial stone was left unturned: temperatures fluctuated within the brewery, breezes shifted as participants entered and exited buildings, and even the scent of the hops was piped as part of the multisensory experience.
