THE SPOT
"Multiplex" (:60/:55/:30) opens on a couple buying tickets for a movie called "Visually Stunning But Ultimately Pointless Sequel," which is sold out. The ticket seller suggests "Poorly Written Remake," but that too is sold out. As the couple goes through the other film choices ("Bloated-Budget Buddy Movie," "Painfully Unfunny Comedy," "Over-Hyped Piece of Rubbish"), another man in line gets tired of waiting and begins to complain. Finally a voiceover points out, "Not every movie out there is a classic, but every movie here is," as the TCM logo appears.
Spot broke April 18.
