Automatic Duck Xsend Motion Builds a Bridge from Final Cut Pro X to Motion 5; Instantly Recreates FCPX Timeline as a Motion 5 Project
Automatic Duck (www.automaticduck.com), the original creators of timeline translation software for filmmakers, editors and motion graphics artists, announced today the immediate availability of its new timeline translation application for Final Cut Pro X editors and Apple Motion artists; Xsend Motion.
Automatic Duck Xsend Motion made its debut at the FCP Exchange Workshop (http://fcpexchange.com/nab2016/) during the NAB 2016 conference in April, where president and co-founder Wes Plate demonstrated how Xsend Motion instantly converts XML from Final Cut Pro X to a Motion 5 project, building a long-desired bridge between the two applications.
Mark Spencer is a freelance producer, videographer, editor, trainer and writer based in the Bay Area where he produces Final Cut Pro X and Motion-related training and plugins with his partners at Ripple Training. He is also an Apple-certified Master Trainer, consultant for corporations and individuals and is the author of a half-dozen books on motion graphics and editing. Mark participated in the beta program for Xsend Motion and had this to say about it:
“Automatic Duck Xsend Motion is a godsend for Final Cut Pro X editors who use Motion to add motion graphics and visual effects to their videos. Finally, there is a simple way to get your edited clips, complete with temp effects, titles, and transitions, into Motion!”
Steven Galvano is an independent film producer and operator of Colors Studios in Rochester, New York. Steven’s work includes an extensive roster of short film and video projects, national ads, narrative short film projects, and feature length documentaries shot all over the world. Steven is a long-time Automatic Duck customer, and has been using Xsend Motion as well.
"Automatic Duck saved our lives – and dozens of post hours – during a documentary feature we produced nearly 10 years ago. Now that we are producing content at the screaming pace that episodic TV demands, we're thrilled to have Automatic Duck back for FCPX and Motion. It’s proven itself once again to be a no-compromise time-saver, and one of the most valuable tools in our bag."
Xsend Motion reads XML exports, or is able to process projects directly from the Final Cut Pro X Share menu. Xsend Motion is also able to translate clip transforms, speed changes, and many third party filters.

Additional Products from Automatic Duck
Last fall, Automatic Duck made its re-introduction to the community with two new products; Automatic Duck Ximport AE and Automatic Duck Media Copy. Both products are available for sale, and supported exclusively through Red Giant. To purchase or learn more, please visit http://www.redgiant.com/automatic-duck/.
Automatic Duck Ximport AE
Automatic Duck Ximport AE builds a powerful bridge between Final Cut Pro X and Adobe After Effects CC. As more professionals experiment with and adopt Apple's Final Cut Pro X, the need has increased for a robust translation to After Effects CC. Automatic Duck Ximport AE is an After Effects plug-in that reads XML files from FCPX 10.1.2 and later directly into After Effects CS6 and later.
Automatic Duck Ximport AE is available from Red Giant and is priced at $199.
Automatic Duck Media Copy
Automatic Duck Media Copy is an update to the popular utility that adds support for FCPX XML files. Automatic Duck Media Copy reads AAF or OMF exports from Avid editing systems, XML files from Final Cut Pro 7 and earlier, or XML files from Final Cut Pro X 10.1.2 and later, then it figures out which media files are referenced by the sequence(s) and copies those media files to a location the user specifies.
Automatic Duck Media Copy is available from Red Giant and is priced at $99.
