15th annual post production industry awards competition to honor excellence in a wide range of disciplines on May 12 in Chicago
AICE has just issued its Call for Entries for the 2016 AICE Awards. The international post production trade association’s premiere annual event, the competition will celebrate its 15th anniversary as it recognizes creative and craft excellence in a wide variety of categories. The awards presentation is scheduled for May 12, 2016, and will be held at Navy Pier in Chicago.
The deadline for entries is Monday, February 8, 2016. Full descriptions of categories and entry requirements can be found at http://www.awardcore.com/aice/login.php.
The 2016 AICE Awards welcomes entries for editorial excellence in product categories such as automotive, technique categories such as comedy or dialogue and genre categories such as music video. It also includes separate craft categories for original music composition, audio mixing, sound design, color grading, graphic design and visual effects and recognizes the best work emanating from its local chapters with Best of Chapter awards. Each awards presentation culminates with a Best of Show winner.
“As we celebrate our 15th anniversary as a competition, we’re gratified that winning an AICE Award has become a benchmark for many post production professionals as well as one of the hallmarks of working with independent post production houses,” says AICE Executive Director Rachelle Madden.
“Acknowledging the great work editors, colorists, audio mixers, sound designers, composers, VFX artists and designers at our member companies are producing underscores the value of working with independent companies. That’s amply demonstrated every year by the work that’s honored at our awards show.”
At the 2016 presentation the association will honor the latest inductee to its AICE Hall of Fame and will recognize the first International Grand Prize winners in its Camp Kuleshov trailer competition for assistants. Members of AICE’s Chicago Chapter Board, led by Board President Tom Duff of Optimus, are hosting the event. The 2016 show logo, as well as all related design elements, are being created by Method Design in Chicago.
