San Jose, CA -- (SPW) -- Cogswell College, an historic digital art, engineering and entrepreneurship school, celebrated the opening of its new headquarters in North San Jose, serving its 600 students and Academy Award-winning alumni, on Wednesday, October 14 during a special ribbon cutting ceremony at the school's new campus.

During the October 14th ceremonies, Dr. Deborah Snyder, President, Cogswell College, welcomed visitors, who then heard from John Duhring, Cogswell’s Director, Strategic Alliances and Alumni Relations. Next up was San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, who made a special guest appearance alongside “Cogswell the Dragon.” Dr. Charles Cook, Cogswell’s Chairman, Board of Trustees, was also on hand to cut the ribbon.
Known as a "fiercely collaborative, living laboratory," Cogswell is the region's first digital arts college. The new San Jose site is the college's sixth campus since its founding in San Francisco in 1887. The school relocated to Cupertino in 1985 and then to Sunnyvale in 1993.
"The location of the campus in North San Jose is excellent," said Dr. Deborah Snyder, President and Chief Academic Officer of Cogswell College. "It's is easy to get here, and it provides our students the advantage of connecting to the area's top tech firms that are right in our backyard."
