Television and feature film submissions for the Art Directors Guild (ADG) 20th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards are set to open on October 6, 2015. This year’s awards will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The official announcement came from Marcia Hinds, ADG Council Chair, and James Pearse Connelly, ADG Award’s Executive Producer.
Submission deadline is Thursday, November 5, 2015. The Art Directors' branch first votes to determine the nominations. The second round of voting to determine the winners in all categories will be open to voting by the entire "active" ADG membership. Nominations for ADG’s Excellence in Production Design Awards will be announced Tuesday, January 5, 2016. The ADG will present winners in 11 competitive categories representing theatrical films, television productions, commercials and music videos.
As previously announced, Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne will be the first to receive ADG’s newly created William Cameron Menzies Award. The Lifetime Achievement Awards honorees from each of the four ADG crafts – Production Designers, Art Directors, Assistant Art Directors; Scenic, Title and Graphic Artists; Illustrators and Matte Artists; Set Designers and Model Makers – will be announced in the near future.
The ADG Excellence in Production Design Awards are open only to productions made within the U.S. by producers’ signatory to the IATSE agreement. Foreign entries are acceptable without restrictions.
