About THE LATEST PROJECTS FROM PIXELDUST STUDIOS' INTERACTIVE DIVISION:
► NBCUNIVERSAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL: Pixeldust Studios recently designed, developed and launched the website for the 2015 NBCUniversal Short Film Festival. Writers, producers, actors, directors, and storytellers were sought to submit entries for the 10th Annual NBCUniversal Short Film Festival, as the event seeks the next generation of emerging talent. Submissions have just been accepted in four categories of narrative short film – comedy, drama, horror and sci-fi. The NBCUniversal Short Film Festival seeks submissions from talent with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Submitted entries had to be between 2 to 20 minutes in length.
Kevin Seldon, Founder of Keldof Marketing, who has partnered with NBCUniversal on the NBCUniversal Short Film Festival since its inception, said, "We wanted to revamp our website in honor of the festival's 10th Anniversary, to give it a simple, modern, sleek feel. Pixeldust was wonderful to work with, and created a site that exemplified everything we were hoping to achieve."
► POPULATION CONNECTION: For client Population Connection (since 1968, America's voice for population stabilization and the largest grassroots population organization in the United States,) Pixeldust designed and developed the new interactive website www.WorldPopulationHistory.org
Pixeldust also produced the video for that site, and created an Infographic highlighted there. This interactive website depicts major population changes throughout time, including the top five inventions that changed population history (oil wells, the magnetic compass, the microscope, the flush toilet, and nitrogen-based fertilizer.) From the Han Dynasty to the Information Age, the site provides users with insight on how major historical moments contributed to an expanding population, and how it will impact the future.
The Pixeldust-designed WorldPopulationHistory.org site was launched on July 11th, 2015, also known as "World Population Day." Another highlight of the site is a video that portrays the history of population growth with dots, each representing 1 million people, illuminating a world map. The video is available in six languages: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi and Mandarin. Closed captioning is also provided. Historical images within the video provide context for the events, discoveries and civilizations that shaped world population over the past 2,000 years. Also, an interactive timeline on the website showcases over 370 milestones, including humanity's major inventions.
Pam Wasserman, Senior Vice President for Education, Population Connection, said, "Pixeldust was an ideal partner in the creation of the new edition of our World Population video animation and the World Population History interactive website. From the first conversations with the Pixeldust creative team, it was clear that they 'got' what our goals were for these educational products, as well as the style and tone we wanted to convey. Every step of the way, it has been an enriching collaboration. The Pixeldust developers are focused, dependable, responsive to our feedback, and clearly vested in the success of the project. We are delighted with the new video and website and look forward to using them in our teacher education efforts for years to come, both in the U.S. and internationally. Initial feedback from educators and the media has been very positive – there's so much content to explore and in such an engaging way!"
► RED ROCK FILMS: For client Red Rock Films, Pixeldust designed and produced a highly interactive new website. Red Rock Films specializes in unscripted television formats for major broadcasters including Discovery Channel, American Heroes Channel, The Smithsonian Channel and Nat Geo Wild. Red Rock Films launched in 2010 with three hours of programming for Nat Geo Wild that documented the life-and-death drama of creatures struggling to survive along the Mississippi River during a major flood. Red Rock's experienced staff comes from a diverse background and includes specialists in crime, reality, news and other unscripted genres. The company's main office is located just outside of Washington, DC.
