2G Digital, a leading independent supplier of digital supply chain services, has made two appointments to its sales team.
Cheryl A. Dorsey, a 20-year veteran of the digital media industry, assumes the post of Director of Business Development. She will work to grow the company’s business in traditional markets, including studios, production companies and distributors. She will also seek to develop emerging markets including cable companies, satellite companies, over-the-top distributors (OTT) and other multiple system operators.
Julie Rolf, who also brings lengthy experience in post-production and supply chain marketing, will serve as Director, Business Development and Social Media. She will focus on international new business, including European and Latin American markets. She will also direct industry outreach via social media and other communications outlets.
2G Digital has been rapidly expanding its production capacity and sales team to support the media industry’s growing reliance on digital means of content distribution. “We see strong opportunities to grow both by expanding our client base and by reaching out to new markets,” said 2G Digital CEO Stephen Buchsbaum. “Cheryl and Julie will help us take advantage of those opportunities while preserving our reputation for personalized customer service. We are very happy to welcome them to the 2G team.”
Dorsey previously served as a sales and marketing executive at CD Media Specialist where she directed on-line and offline sales, negotiated distribution agreements, and led marketing activities. Prior to that, she spent eight years as Vice President for Distribution and Marketing at the Africa Channel. Her background also includes a post as Director of Affiliate Sales for Black Entertainment Television. She is a former board member and Vice President of Women in Cable Telecommunications. In 2007, she was named Woman of the Year by WICT’s Southern California Chapter in 2007. She was recently elected to the board of the Alliance for Women in Media.
“2G does an excellent job in delivering quality and great customer service to its studio clients,” Dorsey said. “I want to leverage my extensive contacts in order to bring those same values to more companies on the MSO side and elsewhere.”
Rolf previously served as Director, Sales Operations and Marketing at Utd. by Content, a provider of media management and digital distribution services to the news, media and entertainment industries. Her background also includes a lengthy tenure with the Walt Disney Company, including three years as Vice President Worldwide Operations of Walt Disney Home Entertainment. She brings expertise in supply chain strategies, asset management and workflow optimization.
“I will be working with content owners around the world, helping them solve challenges and improve the way they deliver media to the world market,” Rolf said.
