The Art Directors Guild (IATSE Local 800) is a proud sponsor of Eagle-Con 2015, which will be held at Cal State Los Angeles on May 14 and 15. It will for the second year feature work by Illustrators from the guild. Under the theme "Engineering the Future," the artists who work on motion pictures, television shows and comic books, will have on display concept and set design drawings from Disney's Tomorrowland as well as futuristic designs for gadgets, buildings and vehicles from films including Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Fantastic Four 2, Tron, Batman Forever, Supernova, Total Recall and Robocop.
A panel of four ADG artists who specialize in designing concept cars will be explaining their work and answering questions in the Student Union building at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. They are Harald Belker (Total Recall), Patrick Von Janicke (After Earth), Tim Flattery (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Karl Stahlendorf (Star Trek Into Darkness). Matthew Cunningham, whose concept is shown above, is out of the country and cannot make it.
