Modern VideoFilm will have a strong presence at the NAB Show starting next week in Las Vegas.
The NAB Show held April 11-16 is the world's largest electronic media show with more than 98,000 attendees from 150 countries and over 1,700 exhibitors. “I’m excited to share our success over the past few months with our clients, vendors, and the wider content creation/distribution community,” said Modern VideoFilm CEO Scott Avila.
Other key executives attending this year’s show include President, Creative Services, Mark Smirnoff – “I go to NAB every year as I find it’s a great opportunity to meet with our key clients and vendors in one venue.” Executive Vice President, Creative Services, Amber Taylor will also be attending. “The NAB Show gathers the best in the business and that’s why we’re there,” added Taylor.
“We’ve recently strengthened our revamped sales team,” said long-time Modern employee and E.V.P. of Sales Frank Bluestein. “We added Julie Currin in the first quarter and we just added industry veteran Bob Bailey, most recently at Sony, in the role of V.P. Feature Sales.”
Also attending will be President, Content Services, Bill Watt. “Our content services team is stronger than ever. In fact, we have been making strong headway with new clients and will have new deals to announce in the near future. We continue to be the clearing house for Apple iTunes QC.”
Modern will also have a strong engineering contingent attending the show led by V.P Engineering, Content Sevices, Ray Shantz and V.P Engineering, Creative Services, Marvin Hall. Joining them will be, among others in the engineering team, Walt Bigelow and Siegfried “Sieg” Heep. Sieg serves on the Technology Committee of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) and is a contributor to ACES (Academy Color Encoding System).
Also in attendance will be Duck Grossberg, Modern’s Digital Imaging Supervisor, who will discuss real world usage of PreRoll Post, Imagine Product’s LTFS archiving application in their booth SL11127 on Monday, April 13 at 11 a.m.
V.P. and Managing Director, Location Services, Greg Ciaccio will make three on-camera appearances at the show. Ciaccio is a member of SMPTE, the ASC Technology Committee, the AMPAS Sci-Tech Council, HPA and DCS. Greg will participate on the On Set/Near Set dailies panel at the Teradek booth C6025 on Tuesday at 3pm and will appear on Post Magazine TV Wednesday 10am in their booth SL10527 and the Post Perspective TV show 11am in the iOgrapher booth SL6006 Wednesday morning.
This follows Greg’s pre-NAB appearance on the Digital Production Buzz show last week. President Mark Smirnoff will also appear on-camera speaking on the Restoration Panel at the Teradek booth Monday at 3pm. DI/Online Editor and PR Specialist Barry Goch will be live tweeting from the SMPTE Technology Summit on Cinema and shooting video interviews with the Blackmagic Ursa camera and MXL audio equipment for PostPerspective.
