“Last Days in Vietnam” Among Five Nominees For Best Documentary Feature
Nonfiction Unlimited, the commercial production company that represents a roster of elite documentary directors, announced today that director Rory Kennedy, who does commercials and sponsored documentary projects through the company, was nominated for an Academy Award® in the "Best Documentary Feature" category for Last Days In Vietnam, produced by Moxie Firecracker Films for PBS’ American Experience Films. This is the first Academy Award® nomination for Kennedy.

Kennedy’s Last Days in Vietnam, the critically acclaimed story of the dramatic evacuation and fall of Saigon to the North Vietnamese Army, premiered at Sundance 2014. Her previous film Ethel, about her mother and wife of Robert F. Kennedy, premiered at Sundance in 2012. Kennedy has produced and directed over 35 documentaries, covering topics from the global AIDS crisis, human rights, domestic abuse, poverty, drug addiction, and political corruption. Kennedy’s films have appeared on HBO, PBS, Lifetime Television, A&E, Court TV, The Oxygen Network and The Learning Channel.

MUAHS Awards Unveils New Award Category For Theatrical Productions
The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) IATSE Local 706 will debut the highly anticipated new award category, Broadway International, to their awards ceremony on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel, presented by Giovanni Eco Chic Beauty. The new category will expand the recognition of outstanding Make-Up and Hair Styling Artists to encompass all live theater productions, including Broadway International live productions. With the addition of Broadway International, the ceremony will now shine a spotlight on beloved theatrical productions from around the world, recognizing the hard work and creativity of Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists in this genre.
