THE SPOTS
Two :30s star the Sprint PCS spokesman, Brian, and emphasize the company’s all-digital, all-PCS nationwide network. "Dinner" focuses on a situation where unclear channels of communication on cellular phones lead to misunderstandings. Racecar driver Kyle Petty mistakes his wife’s "dinner for two" comment as "dinner for crew," thus prompting him to invite his entire crew over for supper. While the crew sits crammed on the couple’s couch, Brian calms her down by reassuring the couple that Sprint PCS can provide them with clear cellular service, thus preventing any future confusion. Brian then attempts to resolve the situation with a suggestion: "I’m thinking drive through." In "Big Day," Brian prepares to tell the world about the new Total Digital Connections Plan. With his trusty dog by his side, he primes himself to venture outside: He picks out one of his many trademark black coats and selects a cell phone from the multitude displayed on a wall. Walking out the door, he suddenly remembers that he forgot his keys, which his dog tosses to him from its mouth.
