The Massachusetts Production Coalition (MPC), the leading voice for the film and media industry in the Commonwealth, wrapped up their second Mass Media Expo at WGBH with a keynote from Boston Mayor Martin Walsh and a panel of filmmakers from Disney’s “The Finest Hours” discussing plans for production beginning this month in Quincy, Mass.
According to David Hartman, Program Director for MPC, “The second Expo met and exceeded our expectations – everything including Mayor Walsh, increased programming, attendance, corporate sponsors and a group of larger and more diverse exhibitors helped make it a successful day for everyone. To have producers from a major feature like “The Finest Hours” sit on stage and talk to an audience was just the perfect way show how all of these players are coming together to support and grow this industry locally. It really shows the incredible range of filmmaking that is thriving here. ”
The Expo also featured programs involving “The Working Actor”, Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Film and Media, Product Demos, the WGBH Production Group, and Documentaries in the Digital Age.
