Visual effects work by Method Beauty & Finishing on two short films and a commercial have made the “Shortlist“ for recognition for outstanding creative in the inaugural 2014 CLIO Image Awards.
Method Beauty & Finishing is the brand resulting from the January 2014 combination of two units within Deluxe – Company 3 Beauty, part of Deluxe’s Company 3, whose credits include the 2013 Calvin Klein men’s underwear Super Bowl ad, as well as campaigns for Avon, Dior, Michael Kors, Pantene, Revlon and others; and the related operations within Method Studios, the award-winning international visual effects group.
The CLIO Awards, the international advertising, design and communications competition, recently launched CLIO Image, a new global awards program honoring creative excellence in fashion, beauty, retail and accessories. The inaugural gala will be held at The Pierre in New York on May 7, 2014, with Women’s Wear Daily as media partner.
The three VFX projects making the shortlist of 34 in the Video/Film category were for the short film “CK Provocations” and the commercial spot “Endless Euphoria” for Calvin Klein, and a short film for Louis Vuitton. The VFX and other work being honored on the CLIO shortlist were supervised by Method Beauty & Finishing Creative Director Randie Swanberg and Executive Producer Angela Lupo. The color work on all three pieces was performed by Tim Masick of Company 3 New York.
The agencies on the Calvin Klein projects were CRK Advertising and Baron & Baron, headed by prominent creative executive Fabien Baron; the agency on the Louis Vuitton film was VLM and the production company was The Collective Shift.
“Hot on the heels of the re-brand of our company, we’re off to an auspicious start,” said Method NY General Manager Stuart Robinson. “This important recognition reflects the excellent work and talent of our people. Outstanding content and creative, and arresting visuals, are increasingly vital to breaking through the ‘clutter,’ and we’re designed help clients achieve that important objective.”
“Five years ago, we saw an opportunity to create a go-to beauty VFX shop that New York was desperately lacking,“ Swanberg said. “Within our first year as Company 3 Beauty, we had added top-flight talent, quadrupled in size and established ourselves as the premier NY post-production house for this industry category which is so essential to New York City. Method had all the infrastructure in place to help streamline the growing demand for VFX work and enabled us to expand our offerings to clients. Our recent re-brand as Method Beauty & Finishing is an important step in our ongoing growth and service to the beauty, fashion and retail industries.”
