In the premiere "Spotlight on Branding" Podcast, Tim Hawthorne makes these points:
According to recent research, while there is clearly recognition that employing social media to amplify content is a key strategy in today's connected world, few organizations are able to comprehensively gauge the results of their social media efforts.
Calling social media measurement "an underutilized approach across companies of all sizes," research states that even among respondents who do measure social media performance, measurements aren't always tied directly to business revenue or overall market share.
Measurement is the only mechanism marketing professionals have for advocating for their budgets and determining a real return on investment. Attaining "impressive numbers" isn't always easy – even for Direct Response Television users who understand the importance of tying production and media investments to real results.
For marketers who wish to hone their own social media measurement strategies, the first step is to use call and URL tracking to keep tabs on the direct hits that are coming in via Facebook, Twitter, and other sites. A true idea of a campaign's social media performance can then be assessed.

Becca Falborn, CEO & Founder/President, Little Bird
The leaders of international creative company Cutters Studios are very proud to announce the signing of Becca Falborn of Little Bird for commercial representation on the U.S. East Coast. The announcement was made by Cutters New York Managing Director/Executive Producer Caitlin Grady.
Having launched Little Bird last year with a focus on providing highly targeted strategies tailored to each of its roster companies, Falborn organically developed a deep rapport with Grady over the years, while both worked for different companies. After spending time together and comparing notes at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity over the past two years, all parties expressed feeling a strong connection, and a very natural synergy.
“Becca has boundless energy; it’s infectiously fun to be around,” Grady began. “Cutters and Little Bird already share a similar ethos, as well as deep passion for this industry. As a result, we found ourselves out supporting the same events and celebrating craft together, time and time again. Carrying on as partners, working side by side, feels natural. We look forward to collaborations with other Little Bird roster companies, and to getting to know more clients and friends through Becca’s exceptional network.”
For Falborn, her vast appreciation for Cutters Studios draws from its high-caliber reputation, its robust strengths constantly showcased through sustained growth and creative mastery, and of course, the company’s immense talent network.
“Overall, I feel the greatest strength of Cutters Studios is definitely its roster of talent and people,” Falborn confirmed. “Talent isn’t just the editors or the artists, it’s the producers, the management team, the client services teams, the assistants, the receptionists.... Read More
