Highly regarded post production executive and supervisor to manage relations with studios and independent producers.
Technicolor-PostWorks, New York, has appointed veteran post production executive Clark Henderson as Senior Vice President, Theatrical Services. Henderson, who will report to COO Rob DeMartin, will act as liaison to the facility’s studio and independent producer clients and oversee post production operations for theatrical motion pictures.
Henderson has worked with virtually every major movie studio and independent production company over the course of his career, primarily in key post production roles. He spent the past six years at Technicolor Creative Services, serving since 2010 as Vice President/Client Relations based in New York. As such, he collaborated with Technicolor-PostWorks on a number of feature film projects including Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Inside Llewyn Davis and Noah. Henderson managed several key accounts for Technicolor, including The Weinstein Company, and will retain those duties and relationships in his new role with Technicolor-PostWorks.
DeMartin noted that Henderson’s arrival underscores New York’s growing prominence as a center for feature film post production and Technicolor-PostWorks’ commitment to servicing that market. “We are very excited to add Clark as a permanent member of our team,” DeMartin said. “It’s a win for the entire New York film community to gain the services of a seasoned professional with deep experience and a true passion for quality filmmaking.”
“Clark’s expertise bridges operations, engineering and sales, and his experience as a facility client gives him a firm grasp of our clients’ points-of-view, their concerns and preoccupations,” DeMartin added.
Joe Beirne, Technicolor-PostWorks CTO, echoed those sentiments and added that Henderson’s work at Technicolor, combined with his more than 30 years of experience as a post production supervisor, make him an invaluable resource. “Clark Henderson is the Post-Production Supervisor’s supervisor,” Beirne observed. “His level of tenacious support and wise counsel to studio productions is genuinely unique in this market. If you absolutely, positively must get your picture done on time, this is the guy you want on your side.”
For his part, Henderson said that he has witnessed growing demand for feature post production services in New York, spurred in part by the state’s generous tax incentives, and he is impressed with the efforts Technicolor-PostWorks has made to address the needs of that sector of the market. “We are building something significant,” he said. “This facility has been making the necessary investments in personnel and infrastructure to retain the most ambitious projects and I’m excited to be a part of that. When I first came to New York we were working on a lot of quality independent films, but most studio films returned to Los Angeles. That’s no longer the case.”
Henderson added that Technicolor-PostWorks has a unique ability to provide studios and other producers with all-encompassing post production packages. “We are the only facility in New York offering film laboratory services, dailies services, picture finishing, editorial rooms and sound,” he said. “Over the past six months, we are seeing a lot more productions opting for the practical and creative benefits of packaged services.” He noted that for Universal Pictures’ A Walk Among the Tombstones, Technicolor-PostWorks provided dailies, color grading and sound services.
Prior to joining Technicolor, Henderson worked as an independent post production supervisor. His many credits include The Guardian (Walt Disney Pictures), The Visiting (Silver Pictures/Warner Bros.), Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (Paramount) and Hollywood Homicide (Revolution Studios). His background also includes executive positions with Miramax, Fries Entertainment and New World Pictures, and work as a director, producer and editor.
