Agency Activeark JWT collaborated with kaboom productions and director matt fackrell to create two video game trailers for the new multi player Nokia phone companion APP for DreamWorks’ Dragons Adventure, based on the animated feature film How To Train Your Dragon.
As showcased in the trailers, the game uses HERE Maps and LiveSight technology to transform actual landmarks along any drive into the fictional Isle of Berk. Roadways, buildings, lakes, and even real-life traffic and weather conditions are mirrored into the game, personalizing it and transforming the drive into an epic adventure: http://wdrv.it/IBaZe9
Operating at the speed of dragon’s flight, the kaboom team experienced a hyper-productive week from prep to production and post to deliver two spots complete with visual effects. Bentlight Digital provided on location supervising for the project shot on RED by DP Henry Dhuy on location in Southern California. Music and sound effects from the original motion picture provide dynamic support to the visuals.
“It was an amazing team that came together and it was an honor to create spots for such powerhouse brands,” says Director Fackrell, “I love gaming as well as capturing the experience of being a kid, so it was a joy to work on the concept, and a fun challenge to get it to soar within the rapid-fire timeframe.”
“Our deadline for delivery was for a debut at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi and we were truly psyched knowing it would be seen on a vast screen in front of expectant viewers at the show before making its global premier online,” comments kaboom’s Head of Production Steven Sills. “We were proud to help Activeark JWT usher in the next gen gaming app.”
