Hawthorne Direct, a full service brand response advertising agency, has named George Paysinger as Media Strategist/Analyst. Paysinger will be based in the company’s Los Angeles headquarters. The announcement was made today by Hawthorne Direct’s Chief Operating Officer, Jessica Hawthorne-Castro.
In his new post, Paysinger will provide media leadership, strategy, and analysis on behalf of Hawthorne Direct’s diverse clientele. He will deal directly with agency management on account and group status, manage various client relationships, and develop media strategies, including insights and media optimization.
Regarding the new appointment, Hawthorne-Castro said, “George is a great new addition to our company. He has experience in integrating strategic planning and communication development, and can initiate planning objectives and strategies that coincide with our clients’ marketing directions. George also has expertise in analyzing media performance, and can provide a consumer-centric view in all strategic media thinking.”

Prior to joining Hawthorne Direct, George Paysinger was a Business Analyst with KSL Media. There, he researched consumer attitudes and behaviors to gain a better understanding of how to optimize media placements. Paysinger also analyzed client data to identify trends and possible segmentation of customer types, updated and automated processes to create greater efficiencies throughout the company, and consulted with multiple teams on specific strategies for media recommendations made to clients.
As a Billing Analyst with Quest Diagnostics, Inc., Paysinger analyzed AR for trends in denied and non-responded claims, to identify issues impacting cash flow. He implemented new processes and made improvements to existing processes to reduce bad debt. Paysinger also conducted monthly meetings with the corporate finance department to discuss billing issues, and sought to discover root causes of billing inconsistencies.
From 2010-2012, Paysinger was a Pricing Analyst with Guitar Center, Inc. There, he pulled data to analyze sales history and determine effective pricing structures. Paysinger also analyzed customer behaviors and trends of products to come up with pricing recommendations. Paysinger’s additional duties included coordinating price changes with merchant teams, and ensured pricing was accurate across various advertisements.
George Paysinger holds two degrees from California State University, Northridge: a Bachelors of Science (BS) Degree in Finance and Real Estate, and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Management.
