Optimus today announced that former Beast Editorial Head of Production Darby Walker has joined the leading post and production house as its new senior producer in Santa Monica, Calif. Working closely with Optimus EP/Managing Director Therese Hunsberger, Walker will help drive growth while maintaining Optimus‘ unique combination of world-class client service and creative support for its artists.
“Darby is a highly respected and admired talent in the LA advertising community,” said Hunsberger. “She has a ton of experience in our post and production world, all in L.A. where she was born and raised, and I can’t wait to team up with her.”
Most recently, Walker was head of production in the Los Angeles offices of Beast Editorial. There, she worked on high profile campaigns for Hewlett Packard, North Face, Carl’s Jr., and HTC. Before Beast, she freelanced with MTI Film, helping to establish the facility as a viable post alternative in Hollywood. Prior to that, she was executive producer at New Hat, a telecine and color facility. Her first foray into producing was at RIOT Santa Monica, where she increased the company’s prestige as a premiere facility employing some of the top colorists in the city. Walker began her career as a production assistant at Propaganda Films. Her personal attention to bidding, scheduling, and actualizing jobs endears her to both clients and editors alike, making her an indispensable part of the post-production team.
