About Mobius Awards
Mobius Awards was established in 1971 in Chicago as part of the U.S. Television and Radio Commercials Festival. It has been in continuous operation since, keeping up-to-date as the industry constantly changes. Since 2001, Mobius has been under the leadership of Lee W. Gluckman Jr. The competition’s headquarters are now in the Los Angeles area of Redondo Beach, California.
Each year, the competition recognizes outstanding work in Brochure/Book, Cinema-In-flight, Direct, Mixed Media Campaign, New Media, Online, Outdoor, Package Design, Photography, Point-of-Purchase, Print, Radio and Television mediums plus our Student competition.
Entries come from professionals around the world and are judged by international panels in many countries. Points are awarded entries based on effectiveness and creativity. Judges are not required to award first and second places and also may award more than one first and second place in a category.
Mobius presents a First Place Mobius Statuette, a Second Place Certificate and a Student Certificate as well as Best of Show in the various mediums (chosen from among First Place winners). In addition, the competition awards include Photographer of the Year, Best Photography of the Year and Cinematographer of the Year.
Mobius takes its name from the Mobius strip, a strip of paper that when twisted once and joined at the ends presents a single edge and a single face reversing themselves and continuing indefinitely. Thus, the Mobius Statuette is a three-dimensional version of a Mobius strip. www.mobiusawards.com
