SIM Digital, one of the leading suppliers of digital production equipment and post production services in North America, is sponsoring a special session on the role of the television showrunner at the Producers Guild of America’s 2013 Produced By Conference. Hit the Ground Showrunning will be moderated by Marshall Herskovitz, President Emeritus of the PGA, and will occur on Saturday, June 8th at 11:15 a.m. at 20th Century Fox Studios in Los Angeles.
The session will examine the role of the showrunner in scripted television. Arguably the most powerful producers in the entertainment landscape, showrunners face daunting challenges including the incredible competition in the television marketplace and the demands of highly-paid talent. One of Hollywood’s most successful showrunners, Herskovitz was behind such hits as thirtysomething. Speakers will include Darlene Hunt (The Big C, 90210, Save Me), Jason Katims (Parenthood, Friday Night Lights, Roswell), Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy, The Shield) and Beau Willimon (House of Cards, The Ides of March).
SIM Digital provides camera systems and other production gear to film and television productions in Hollywood and throughout North America. Its Bling Digital division provides innovative workflow solutions employed by many television productions including Covert Affairs and Suits.
“We are extremely pleased to continue to our support of Produced By, one of the premiere forums for the exchange of new ideas in the film and television industry,” said Bling Digital Vice President of Creative Services Chris Jacobson. “We are particularly excited to sponsor a session hosted by Marshall Herskovitz, one of the industry’s great innovators.”
The Producers Guild of America’s 2013 Produced By Conference runs June 8th – 9th at 20th Century Fox Studios in Los Angeles.
