One of the preeminent commercial directors of advertising campaigns across the print, television and interactive media in Hollywood today, Jay Silverman, founder of Jay Silverman Productions, has just directed and produced, in conjunction with Standing O Entertainment, a one hour TV special featuring Jamie Foxx, Quentin Tarantino, Kerry Washington and Reginald Hudlin.
On behalf of client TV One and Executive Producer Susan Banks, Silverman worked directly with filmmaker Tarantino, and actors Foxx and Washington, along with TV One host Cathy Hughes, on the special, which was filmed at LA’s Griffith Park Equestrian Center and at Jay Silverman Productions Studios in Hollywood. The show will air December 15th on TV One.

Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, and starring Jamie Foxx, Samuel L Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christophe Waltz and Kerry Washington, “Django Unchained” is an upcoming western film set in the Deep South. The storyline follows Django (Foxx), a freed slave who treks across America with Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), a bounty hunter. The film is inspired by the 1966 Sergio Corbucci film “Django.” Produced by The Weinstein Company and A Band Apart, “Django Unchained” will be released by Columbia Pictures on Christmas Day, 2012.

Jay Silverman began work as a professional photographer at the age of 17, when he photographed the TV show “Kung Fu” for public relations and promotional purposes. Now some 40 years later, with still photography remaining his “First Love,” Silverman also directs live action multi-media advertising projects for such Fortune 500 clients as McDonalds, Intel, Disney, Coors, Budweiser, GM, Coke, Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Visa, and Gatorade, among many others.
