Continuing to grow its roster of commercial filmmakers, STORY has signed director/cameraman Scott McCullough for exclusive representation in the United States. It marks McCullough’s second time with STORY; he was earlier on staff from 2005 to 2008, when his credits included work for General Motors, The Home Depot and Jeep, among others. He marked his return to STORY by shooting a package of five spots for GMC and Boston agency Digitas.
“We are delighted to have Scott back on the team,” noted STORY executive producer Mark Androw. “Scott is a talented filmmaker and storyteller, and he knows how to shoot cars in interesting and beautiful ways. He also has a great sense of lighting and design, and a wonderful rapport with clients.”
McCullough was previously at from TATE/USA, having previously worked with Reactor and Giraldi. He continues to be represented in foreign markets by Driven by Creatives, which has offices in Prague, Berlin and Munich.
In selecting STORY as his permanent home, the director pointed to its national reach and solid reputation among advertising agencies. “STORY is a very strong company, it’s highly regarded and it has an excellent sales team,” he said. “It was an easy choice to be back with an amazing team.”
McCullough’s first job back under the STORY banner was a 5-spot campaign for GMC, featuring the Yukon Acadia and Yukon Terrain models. The shooting boards included dialogue, precision driving, interiors, effects and exterior beauty cinematography in rural and urban locations.
McCullough has directed a substantial amount of car work over the course of his career. He is also known for directing action and for visual storytelling. His credit list includes Lowes, Chevy, Ford, DirecTV, Coors Lite, NASCAR, Budweiser, Coca Cola and EA Sports.
