Phosphene, the independent design and visual effects company, continues its longstanding collaboration with HBO by joining Season 3 of “Boardwalk Empire” created by Terence Winter with executive producer Martin Scorsese.

For HBO, the Season 3 VFX team is helmed by VFX Supervisor Lesley-Robson Foster and VFX Producer Parker Chehak. Phosphene Partner and VFX Supervisor John Bair explained: “Because Lesley and Parker understand the process so well, shots are always thought out and planned with precision, which means we can dedicate all of our time to making them as beautiful as possible.”
Phosphene Partner/VFX Executive Producer, Vivian Connolly adds: “Once again, HBO has provided us with the amazing opportunity to jump into the incredibly compelling visual world of the early 20th Century, first with “Mildred Pierce” and now with “Boardwalk Empire.”
Phosphene utilized Nuke, 3ds Max with V-ray, Adobe Creative Suite, and PCs running Windows 7 64-bit in the execution of this project.

For the company’s television clients, in addition to their Emmy-nominated work for Todd Haynes’ HBO miniseries “Mildred Pierce,” Phosphene is busy on Stephen Frears’ “Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight” for HBO, season three of CBS’s “Blue Bloods,” and currently at work on season seven of NBC’s “30 Rock.” In addition, Phosphene has teamed with HBO to create all visual effects for seasons one, two and three of “Treme.”
