THE SPOTS
"Forgiveness" (:30) refutes the old golfing maxim that the safest place on the course is in the middle of a fairway. Callaway spokesperson Johnny Miller has to duck to avoid a blinding shot from celebrated duffer Rodney Dangerfield, who’s discovered the "forgiving" Callaway Steelhead club. "Next Generation" (:30) opens on three up-and-coming young pros who insist they don’t act or play "like the old guys." However, they become stammering rookies when golf legend Arnold Palmer appears. In "Heckle" (:30), baseball superstar Mike Piazza tries to unnerve his partner by jeering him like baseball players do on the field. When the partner attempts to heckle Piazza, the catcher calmly hits the ball a mile. "Sumo" (:30) features a 500-pound wrestler who complains about being overmatched by a golf ball. In "Field and Ball Control" (:30), former Olympian Jim Thorpe reveals the secrets of successful golf. And golfer Anika Sorenson shows off her "metal" in "Stainless Steel" (:30).
