ShootersINC (www.shootersinc.com) delivered award-winning production and post-production work on Mid-Atlantic Sports Network’s MASN Collegetown and MASN HD broadcast campaigns, two passion-driven projects that won multiple Emmy® honors at the 54th National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter Emmy® Awards in June.nnShootersINC was honored to be a part of the team earning two Outstanding Sports Promotion awards. MASN, which broadcasts every available Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals game, as well as Division I college football and basketball games, won one Emmy® each for MASN Collegetown (“Colors” and “Animals”) and two Network/Image Promotion Awards including one each for MASN Collegetown Campaign and MASN HD Campaign Orioles/Nationals, respectively.nnIn the Collegetown campaign, MASN Creative Director Dick Goggin’s and Offline Editor Bill Blythe’s goal was to relate via visuals “that MASN is everywhere” to underscore the network’s promo tagline “We Major in College Sports.” nnnn”This campaign is a road trip in people’s lives,” says Goggin. “It had to feel very personal because college is often the last bastion of how we feel before the pressures of adult life take over. We all bring those passions with us as we move through the rest of our lives.”nnGoggin created the compelling scripts, overall creative and visual outlines, while ShootersINC worked on the spots production through post, traveling throughout the MASN footprint to shoot the footage that anchors the warm, vital Collegetown campaign. Shot over seven days and five states, Collegetown illustrates MASN’s reach via Shooters’ punchy visuals and splitscreen techniques that directly connect with Goggin’s stellar copy. The campaign highlights the passion that bonds a fan to his/her college team, and how that zeal unites MASN fans as a whole.nn”When we saw the scripts, we were very excited about the project,” says ShootersINC EP Post Production Mark Reidenauer. “The challenge was to capture several states within each spot. The pacing was tricky for a :30 spot but the writing was so good that we suggested creating :45s so that the audience could “click” into such great and breezy copy.”nnThe MASN HD Campaign also won an Emmy® for Network/Image Promotion by demonstrating how MASN HD takes sports fans “in” the game. nnConceptualized and written by MASN’s Goggin and with initial offline by Blythe, the campaign was shot at Spring Training and was conceived as a collection of baseball highlights until the team at ShootersINC suggested going one step further. The post production group ran with the footage, taking the dazzling hits, catches and plays and stitching them together to simulate the excitement that comes with a riveting game of baseball. nn”With MASN HD you feel like you are truly “there” in the game,” says Reidenauer. “We worked together with MASN and by joining so many exciting moments together in one :30 spot, fans really feel the effects of HD. Bringing the action “thisclose” really resonates.” nn”MASN continues to work with ShootersINC over these many years because we have a relationship based on trust and honesty,” says Goggin. “They are always receptiveโ they just go head over heels to take everything to the next level.”nnCREDITSnnMASNnCREATIVE DIRECTOR Dick GogginnOFFLINE EDITOR Bill BlythennShootersINCn”MASN Collegetown”nCREATIVE DIRECTOR Kris MagyaritsnDIRECTOR/DP Mark ClaywellnEP PRODUCTION Carolyn JeffersonnEP POST PRODUCTION Mark ReidenauernEDITORIAL Steve WheelocknGRAPHIC DESIGN Kris MagyaritsnCOLOR GRADE Janet FalconnAUDIO MIX Bob Schachner & Mike Taylorn n”MASN HD”: nCREATIVE DIRECTOR Kris MagyaritsnDIRECTOR Kyle RudolphnDP Kyle Rudolph and Kris MagyaritsnEP PRODUCTION Carolyn JeffersonnEP POST PRODUCTION Mark ReidenauernEDITORIAL Kris Magyarits, Rob Graham, Chris MagliozzonSMOKE FINISH Rob GrahamnAUDIO MIX Mike TaylornnShootersINC (www.shootersinc.com) is a full service production and post house that blends talent, technology and client service to provide a superior level of quality and creativity.
