For the third year in a row, ARRI played host to the Cannes International Film Festival Director’s Fortnight Happy Hour events, bringing together directors, producers, cinematographers and industry professionals from around the world. The beautiful beach side location gave the perfect opportunity for guests to enjoy the view and meet the steadily growing ALEXA family; ALEXA Studio and ALEXA M.nnLater in the week the festival awarded Michael Haneke the top prize of the Palme d’Or for AMOUR, a film of love and death. Shot by Darius Khondji AFC, ASC, AMOUR was one of the first projects world-wide to capture with ARRI ALEXA in ARRIRAW.nnAlso captured with ALEXA was JAGTEN by Thomas Vinterberg who’s leading actor Mads Mikkelsen garnered the award for best actor along with cinematographer Charlotte Brus Christensen winning the Vulcain award for artist technician.nnDJECA, directed by Aida Bejic received the Special Distinction of Un Certain Regard, shot by Erol Zubcevic, captured with ALEXA and ARRI/Zeiss Master Prime lenses.
