MTI Film has promoted Belinda S. Merritt to the newly-created post of Director of International Business Development. Merritt, previously Director of Worldwide Sales, will be responsible for growing and supporting the company’s International Resellers and will develop the new Domestic Channel Partner program. Working closely with the resellers and channel partners, she will help establish and manage strategic relationships and support their marketing and sales efforts to create new business opportunities.
“Belinda offers the perfect combination of experience and passion to work with our resellers and international sales team,” said MTI Film CEO Larry Chernoff. “Her knowledge of the industry and leadership skills will be valuable as we continue to expand our international client base and grow our customer support network both domestically and abroad.”
Merritt’s initial task is to implement new systems for managing MTI’s reseller network, evaluating leads, and interacting with channel partners in a variety of processes including sales activity, marketing, lead registration, information management and customer service. “Business development involves evaluating the roles of business partners and helping them realize their full potential,” Merritt said. “For a solid company like MTI Film to continue to lead the market, business development never stops but is an ongoing process.”
"The new Cortex product line we will be launching this NAB has the potential to empower many more creatives with tools that were traditionally only accessible to studios and post facilities," says David McClure, V.P. of Product Development at MTI. "Belinda has always had an eye for seeing the changes in the industry before they happen. With her years of experience in the industry and at MTI, she’ll be a great asset to our partners as they forge this new sales and distribution model for our technology."
Merritt has a long history with MTI Film. She initially served as an independent sales representative for the company through her firm, Belinda Reps… beginning in 2003. She assumed a staff position in 2009. A veteran of more than 20 years in the post production and entertainment technology industries, Merritt has held senior sales positions with such industry leaders as FilmLight, Hollywood Digital, Complete Post and The Post Group.

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
