THE SPOT
"Missing Bag" (:60/:30) features the New York Mets’ equipment manager Charlie Samuels and assistant clubhouse manager Vinny Greco. As the Mets prepare to take on the cross-town rival Yankees, Samuels questions Greco about the missing jersey of Mets first baseman Mo Vaughn. Samuels points out that every time they are on the road, something ends up missing as scenes of what actually happened to the equipment flashes onscreen: Greco speeding along on a golf cart as a bag goes flying off, kids excitedly trying on Vaughn’s large jersey and jumping with glee, a dog peeing on a lost equipment duffel. As game time looms closer, Vaughn sticks his head out of the dressing room, calling for his jersey. Greco finds a way out of his predicament by running to the nearest Sports Authority and picking up a Mo Vaughn jersey, arriving back in the Bronx just before the game begins. Unfortunately, he forgot to remove the tag and Vaughn warms up at first base, tag hanging out of the back of the jersey. The commercial concludes with scenes of apparel available via Major League Baseball’s Authentic Collection.
