THE SPOT
"The Climb" (:60) centers on a young man ascending the face of a towering mesa, equipped with only his bare hands and determination—a metaphorical representation of the task a recruit undertakes in becoming a Marine. As the man climbs, projected images appear on the side of the rock face, representing the storied past of the Corps. As he nears the top, the ghostly apparition of a Marine Corps officer reaches down, clasps his hand and helps him over the edge. Atop the mesa, just as the two men stand and exchange a salute, lightning strikes and the climber is transformed into a Marine in full dress uniform.
Spot broke in March.
