THE SPOT
"Anthem" features close-ups of people talking, providing a focus on the words. The power of the words, whether serious like, "I love you," or everyday occurrences such as, "I’d like to order a small pizza, please," are spoken by a variety of people, as the voiceover intones, "All words are created equal. The power to use them is our right as humans." The :60 also showcases black-and-white portraits of all types of people to stress the equality of all words and the freedom to use them whenever, and to whomever, one wants to call.
