HBO tapped unified marketing agency, Definition 6, for two major post production projects that included editorial, sound mixing and graphics for a retrospective of the network’s hit show Entourage and an exclusive promotional campaign for Derek Jeter 3K, focusing on the Yankee captain’s quest to join the 3,000 hit club. The Entourage retrospective is a thirty minute tell-all, which first aired on July 7, 2011, highlighting the last eight seasons of the hit series, including exclusive interviews with creators and behind the scenes footage. The highly stylized promotional campaign for Derek Jeter 3K features a look back at his career during the past ten years, and what it means to him to be a part of an elite club in baseball history. nnHBO has a long standing relationship with Definition 6, which began with the launch of Entourage eight years ago. Definition 6 worked on the production and visual effects design of Entourage’s well-known show opening title sequence, which has become as much of pop culture as the show itself. Definition 6 worked on a number of other promotional campaigns for the hit show, including recent editing work on the image campaign for the final season with HBO’s Creative Director David Roofthooft. Since Definition 6 had worked so closely and grown with the Entourage brand since its inception, Mr. Roofthooft felt it was only fitting for Definition 6 to edit and mix the retrospective piece. nn
nn”There are a lot of ‘look back’ shows out there, and we wanted something different. We asked Definition 6 to come up with a game changer, and they delivered,” says Noah Lerner, Senior Producer at HBO. “We had high expectations to begin with, and the team at Definition 6 once again found a way to exceed them.”nn”When we premiered this retrospective, the reactions from the cast and crew said it all, with a hearty and touching round of applause, it made us extremely proud to be a part of the show, and exemplified the extraordinary talent at Definition 6,” says Ian Flaherty, also a Senior Producer at HBO.nnIn addition, Definition 6 also produced numerous Entourage promos that aired prior to the retrospective on-air dates. They can be seen on Definition 6’s website. nn”It is a real testament to our unified model – even in the post-production side of our business – to be able to bring together our editors, mixers, and designers for dynamic clients like HBO,” says Rob Ortiz, Managing Partner at Definition 6. “Our relationship with HBO has evolved to encompass a variety of projects over the last several decades, consistently producing the highest quality of work. We look forward to continuing our journey together.”nnAs for the Derek Jeter 3K campaign, the promo spots ran in early July which led up to the launch of the full show on July 28th. They can also be seen on the agency’s website and on HBO Connect.nnAbout DEFINITION 6nDefinition 6 is a Unified Marketing Agency that creates brand experiences that unite brands and people in motion.
